Project Objective/s:
The main objectives of the project are)
Ensures the welfare of equines by building the capacity of service providers and equine owners/users, ii) improve living standards of equine-owning communities by providing opportunities that can help them improve their income and improve the well-being of their families, and iii) advocate for public and private institutions (government departments, local and international NGOs, bilateral agencies, and academia).
Major Activities:
- To improve the working equine welfare situation by encouraging community participation Community mobilization and Formation of Equine welfare groups.
- To conduct community Meetings/sessions for awareness raising on Basic Equine Management Practices (BMPs).
- Awareness raising among the community, through awareness raising sessions/camps, deworming campaigns, vaccination, etc.
- Skill enhancement of service providers.
- Periodic and emergency Veterinary treatment services.
- To ensure the provision of quality medicines to CMVCs (Community Mobile Veterinary Clinics) for the treatment of equine animals.
- Shed shelter, water troughs and grooming kits, canvas water buckets preparation for equines.
